I first tried this Savory Shake by Dr. Alexander Junger (from Clean Cleanse) a few years ago for Goop’s winter detox and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and filling it was. Since then, it’s been a healthy addition to my smoothie/juice repertoire. Don’t be scared off by the bone marrow broth; it can easily be substituted.
makes 1 tall smoothie
1 cup bone marrow broth, warmed
1 tablespoon miso
a pinch of salt (if broth is unsalted)
1/2 cup almond or coconut milk
Add all the ingredients to a blender.
-A simple chicken or beef broth will work as well
-You can find miso paste at most Asian grocery stores but my favorite is K-Mart, 6-8 rue Saint-Anne, 75002
-Almond milk (lait d’amande) can be found at most grocery stores in the bio (organic) section or at bio stores like Naturalia or Bio C’Bon.
