Saturday Morning Manna

Bonne Année! I love the start of a New Year and how the French usually follow their new year’s greetings with “plein des bonne choses!” At first I found this bizarre. “Happy New Year! Wish you (the wish you is dropped in speedy Parisian French)  lots of good things!” I dunno…just sounds a bit bland to me compared to wishing someone wealth, healthy, happiness etc… But now I kinda like it. It fits to whatever good thaanngs I want for this year! And there are lots!

This week I celebrated my birthday! I was really feeling all the energy and excitement a new calendar and new year of life brings. I had an introspective solo lunch at a lovely restaurant (the kind where you pay for the view and not the food) overlooking the Seine. Just me, my vision book and a glass of bubbly to map out goals for this year. There is something about putting what I want in my life on paper. It feels real when I see it there. I can visualize it and then think about steps to make it all happen.

My big theme for this year is to get more organized and be more productive. I feel I can achieve all my little goals if I take little steps to get on board with my 2016 theme. This article from Camille Styles gave me some ideas for organization and I ordered this in hopes to plan my days out better. Organizing my time better this week, allowed me to attend my first Toastmasters of Paris meeting. I want to improve my public speaking and communication skills. (Speaking about my book while on tour reminded me how nervous I get in front of a crowd!) This organization is the perfect way to inject me with some confidence. I loved my first meeting! The members are pretty amazing and if I will be speaking anything like them in a few months, then I plan to keep on going. (Plus I can already cross off my goal of joining a new club and getting out of my comfort zone!)

For MANNA, I have a lot of plans to improve the functionality of this site, the design (you might already notice a few changes rolling in), and really turn it up on bringing you content that makes expat life and motherhood inspiring and tad easier.

Les soldes just started so get out there and shop shop shop! What are your favorite places to shop during the sales? I need some new suggestions.

I’m off to write my groceries list to start my 7 day detox next week! Hope everyone has a splendid weekend!

Bisous xx, Ajiri

Loving these resolutions for all moms out there.

The canal is not going to be looking too nice for a while thanks to this.

And here is some of “treasures” you might see if you go visit.

New US dietary guidelines are out. (Note to self: must put less sugar in my tea!)

Thank goodness there is no sugar in this shake.

This Weekend

Get organized and write out all the great events for the year.

I hope to get out and see this expo this weekend.
