Weekend Reading, August 15, 2015
Just got back to Paris Thursday evening and it feels wonderful to be home—for now. Our last week in Ticino on the Lago Maggiore was absolutely perfection if it wasn’t for the wasps everywhere! Too bad I learned on the last day only about a nice soapy solution you set out to keep them away. We are planning some other small last-minute trips in France, but right now I kind of like how empty Paris is. Sure it is annoying that everything is closed, but it’s so quiet and chill. My big personal news this week is my new upcoming book was written about on vogue.com and shot to the Top 10 best sellers on amazon.com and barney’s and it’s not even out yet! This post is a day late because I spent most of yesterday living on the internet reading all the blogs and magazines write ups on the book. How exciting! Have a lovely weekend darlings! (The picture above is from a “light” hike we took up the mountain by the lake. For me a light hike is/was hard and miserable!)
There are so many annoying words that pop up on social media so this made me laugh. Fleek is the most annoying for me. What about you?
This is the perfect Paris flat for book lovers.
I am reading about raising emotionally intelligent children, so this video about helping kids deal with emotions will be great for my little firecracker. She gets so angry when she cannot figure out how to back up her rocking sheep!
I suffered depression and anxiety in my adolescence and 20s. If only I had realized yoga and meditation were helpful tools to manage emotions and stress. I am glad to know schools are implementing this.
Raising kids who are caring is very important to me and here are a few tips according to research on how to do that.
I went to the farmer’s market this morning and it was pretty scarce thanks to the holidays but I got a few of these and now I’m ready to prevent wrinkles and keep my cardiovascular system in shape.
Think I will try one of these recipes for sure.
This is reassuring! It gets better moms!
I have a tech-obsessed toddler so might have to think about these.
The topic of praising children is always interesting to me. What is your stance?
Adding a few of these to my list of places to visit in France.
In case you missed it this week, we shared the coolest activity for kids in Paris.
