Saturday Morning Manna
Christmas is right around the corner and this year things are looking a bit different for me. Normally I am that crazy person who wants my tree up before Thanksgiving turkey. Leading up to the 25th, it’s usually like the 12 days of Ajiri-gone-crazy! I am hosting dinners, Pinteresting like a mad woman for ideas about perfect gift wrapping, clipping recipes, listening to cheesy Christmas music, rewatching Christmas Classics, lighting candles, and just generally living as one of Santa’s helpers. Basically I am annoying as heck to anyone around me who might not love the Holidays as much I as clearly do.
Unfortunately this year emotional, physical and mental exhaustion have taken over. I just don’t have it in me. Between the book tour travels, the death of my Grandmother and a close friend in the past two months, and juggling work and motherhood…I am just a bit tired. So even though I have been living out of my suitcase since September…I am packing it up again and heading to Switzerland next week. It might be better to just show up this year and let the belle-mère run the show. Not to worry, I’ll be back next year for sure.
Hope you are enjoying the holidays so far? If you’re spending Christmas here in Paris, MANNA’s newest contributor Lou Murrin-Honoré has you covered with a useful list of things to do and French traditions to mix into your usual habits from the home country.
Bisous xx, Ajiri

A reminder I need to try a few alternatives before busting out the iPad at restaurants.
What a great way to open French theatre to English speakers.
According to this study, Night Owls are more productive than early risers? This was surely written by someone who doesn’t have a toddler banging their head with a toy in the morning…
Now this article about early risers and productivity makes more sense to me.
I know this circled around the internet already, but I am just now seeing it and love it!
Just ordered this for Noomi’s Christmas present. What do you think?
A friend just let me know about this English speaking organization I am considering joining for the new year.
