Editor’s Picks: The New Voyager Brooklyn Map
Recently Emma Swinscoe of The New Voyager released her latest illustrated children’s map of my adopted hometown Brooklyn! The map, illustrated by Maggie Prendergast, features 34 kid-friendly addresses tried and tested by Swinscoe who spent five years living in the BK with her two daughters.
I spent all of my twenties living in Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, and Carroll Gardens. I miss the BK dearly. The next trip home to see all my people will be extra fun since my daughter will be old enough to enjoy some of the map suggestions more than just being dragged from playground to dinner party. But until we take that next trip, we are enjoying playing with the map as a search and find scene (she’s a pro thanks to Where’s Karl?) and we will probably head down to the BHV for a custom frame and hang it on the wall.
