La Petite Palette: Fashion And Art for Kids
Raise your hand if your kid has made a few “masterpieces” in an art class that you have dropped in a file AKA the trashcan. Yikes! I have to raise two hands on that one. I love my daughter but her art at this age (four) usually consists of scribbled crayons. How can I awake the potential art genius in her? (Of course the answer could be to spend time with her, but I just don’t have the time or the arty skill.)
I was very excited to learn that my friend Terry Stocking Brown, a knitwear designer and textile expert with the coolest name, is launching an art class in Paris that will be taught in English this Fall. She will offer quality materials such as watercolors, pastels, and mixed media. How nice will it be where your kid doesn’t return home with computer paper stitched together reeking of crayola or worse—playdoh statues!!! (Quelle horror!!) Terry will also have a class for your budding fashion designers. The kids will make their own dolls and design and create clothes for them. (I once looked all over Paris for months to find there are no fashion classes for our expat kids.)
Sadly for moi, these classes are for eight years old and up so I will have to wait a few years and keep filing those Crayola masterpieces, but for you parents with older children inscription is officially open and I highly recommend you check it out before spots fill up.
