Important 2016 Dates To Plan Your Next Holiday
Okay now that everyone is back to work…it’s time to start thinking about holidays already/again! This country loves time off and so do I. There’s almost no excuse for not making plans and exploring. Get out and explore by plane, train, and automobiles. Sadly though this year we’ll be robbed of a few extra vacation days thanks to Labor Day (May 1) and the day to celebrate end of WWII falling on Sundays. (Not only are we robbed a day but ooh la la we have to put up with an exceptionnel working day this being a leap year!) You won’t be able to faire le point as usual during May, which is usually riddled with four-day weekends. Oh well there are still plenty of other weekends and vacays to focus on. I have made a little cheat sheet of the 2016 holidays as well as what’s left of the Vacances Scolaire (school holidays)* that you can Pin or right-click and save as a jpeg in your phone or on your computer for later.
*These are the dates for Zone C, which Paris falls into. If you would like to know the dates for Zone A or B visit the website for the Ministry of National Education. (Quick education: France is broken up into different zones for school holidays so everyone doesn’t storm the ski resorts at the same time.)
